EPS sandwich panels are composite building materials made of rigid expanded polystyrene (EPS) as the core and pre-coated galvanized steel as the structural panels on either side. Their core advantage lies in their excellent thermal insulation and sufficient mechanical strength at a minimal cost.
While not optimal in individual performance areas, such as thermal insulation (not as good as polyurethane (PU)), fire resistance (not as good as rock wool), strength, and moisture resistance (not as good as extruded polystyrene (XPS)), their comprehensive performance and outstanding cost advantages make them the material of choice for cost-sensitive projects such as industrial plants, warehouses, logistics centers, stadiums, and temporary structures in non-extreme environments.
